Meet Judge Alan Wheeler
Alan Wheeler was raised in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where he learned the value of hard work and fairness. He earned a finance degree from Ouachita Baptist University in 2003, then his law degree, and was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 2009.
Alan began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Denton County, prosecuting cases and learning how the courthouse works from the inside. In 2010 he opened his own law practice in Denton, representing local families and businesses for more than a decade.
In 2022, Denton County voters elected Alan Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1. Since taking office he has cleared a 5,000-case backlog, sped up small-claims cases, and made the court easier to use for people who represent themselves.
Alan and his wife, Erica, have been married since 2008 and live in Lantana with their two children. The family attends Lantana Community Church.
